25 Food Buys I Love

I recently took a poll on Instagram about blog posts people would like to see, and a roundup of some of my favorite food buys took first place. So, consider yourself heard. Below is a list of brands // products I’m currently loving. I’ll be sure to update this list as I find new gems.

  1. Kite Hill dairy-free chive cream cheese - I’ve been spreading this stuff on everything possible lately. I love regular cream cheese, but think this vegan-friendly option may be even better than the real thing. Yep, I said it. Available at Whole Foods, Fairway + various supermarkets.

  2. Van Leeuwen ice cream - Truly any flavor will make you fall in love, but I’m partial to the chocolate chip cookie dough (regular ice cream) and the peanut butter chocolate chip (vegan). The pints are pricey but so worth it. Available at various supermarkets.

  3. Grady’s Cold Brew coffee concentrate - I try to make coffee at home as much as possible to save $, but every now and then I splurge on a 32 oz. jug of this serious cold brew concentrate. If you like strong coffee, you’ll love this stuff. Available on Freshdirect.com, Gradyscoldbrew.com + various supermarkets.

  4. Good Culture 4% cottage cheese - I recently discovered Good Culture and I’m hooked. The whole milk classic is the perfect balance of creamy + salty, plus it packs protein and probiotics. I love enjoying it sweet (with fresh and dried fruit, some cinnamon + honey) or savory (with cracked pepper + sliced cherry tomatoes), or as a dip for crackers. Available at various supermarkets.

  5. Vista Hermosa corn tortillas - I recently discovered these and have been buying them weekly ever since. They are made with just three ingredients (organic non-GMO corn, water + lime) and taste super authentic. I recommend heating them on a skillet so they get a little crispy and melting some cheese on top while you’re at it. Then, stuff them with your favorite taco fillings. Available at Whole Foods, Freshdirect.com + various supermarkets.

  6. Simple Mills almond flour crackers - My absolute favorite crackers at the moment. I crumble them on top of soup, use them as a vehicle for tuna salad or cottage cheese, or just eat them straight from the box. They’re also gluten/grain-free if your diet calls for that! Available on Amazon.com + at Whole Foods.

  7. Traditional Medicinals throat coat tea - I love this soothing tea when I’m in the mood for a cozy cup but don’t want a jolt of caffeine. Available on Amazon.com.

  8. Rao’s Homemade marinara sauce - My very favorite jarred tomato sauce at the moment. Use it on top of a quick weeknight pasta dinner, as a topper for a grain bowl, or as a spread on bread. Available at various supermarkets.

  9. Alter Eco salted caramel dark chocolate truffles - Ultra silky + rich, these truffles are individually wrapped, so you’re less likely to quadruple dip into the bag (but no judgement if you do). Available on Amazon.com + at various supermarkets.

  10. Daily Harvest chocolate hazelnut bites - Consider these bites a healthier take on freezer fudge. They’re naturally sweet thanks to whole food ingredients like dates + cacao and taste ultra rich with help from avocado and hazelnuts. Available on DailyHarvest.com.

  11. Lavva dairy-free yogurts - I fell hard for these dairy-free yogurts that taste decadent but are made from good-for-you ingredients like plantains, coconut, and pili nuts. They’re creamy enough to taste like a dessert, but contain zero added sugars. I love the Original, Raspberry, Blueberry, and Mango flavors. Available at Whole Foods.

  12. Trader Joe’s lentil soup with ancient grains - Unlike other pre-made soups, this vegan option from Trader Joe’s isn’t a total salt bomb. It’s also high in plant-based protein (9 grams per serving). Confession: I almost never heat it up! I love eating it cold straight out of the fridge, or spreading it on crackers as a dip. Available at Trader Joe’s.

  13. Purely Elizabeth granola - Granola is one of my favorite pantry staples + Purely Elizabeth’s product is no exception. I love that it contains superfoods like chia seeds (for omega-3 fatty acids) and amaranth + millet (GF whole grains). It’s my go-to smoothie topper. Opt for the Chocolate PB or Chocolate Sea Salt flavors if you have a sweet tooth like me. Available at Whole Foods + on Amazon.com + Thrivemarket.com.

  14. Sigdal Bakeri’s crisp breads - These seedy crackers are a great vehicle for smashed avocado, hummus, or nut butter. They’re made from easy-to-read ingredients like spelt bran and flax seeds. Available at various supermarkets.

  15. Primal Kitchen’s unsweetened ketchup - Naturally sweetened with balsamic vinegar, this ketchup is free from added sugars and tastes delicious, too. Available on Primalkitchen.com + Thrivemarket.com

  16. Hilary’s Eat Well’s hemp & greens veggie burger - These vegan veggie burgers get a distinctly earthy taste from hemp seeds. I love that they crisp up more than other varieties and aren’t meant to taste like faux meat. Available at Fairway Market + various supermarkets.

  17. Hawthorne Valley’s original sauerkraut - Looking for gut-friendly probiotics beyond yogurt, kombucha, or a supplement? Add this raw, fermented cabbage to salads for a hit of the beneficial bacteria. Available at various supermarkets + on Farmtopeople.com.

  18. Food for Life Baking’s sprouted whole grain english muffins - I put anything and everything on these sprouted whole grain English muffins that are doughy in the middle and crispy on the outside when toasted. They’re a stellar source of whole grains and even serve up some protein thanks to ingredients like sprouted barley, lentils, and soybeans. I love the cinnamon raisin flavor. Available at various supermarkets.

  19. Sakara life source super powder - I don’t typically recommend protein powders (most of us get more than enough protein in our diet without even realizing it), but I love this one from Sakara that’s made from filling plant-based protein sources like hemp, sesame, and peas. It also delivers gut-friendly digestive enzymes and energy-boosting vitamins like B12. Available on Sakara.com.

  20. Rhythm Superfoods naked beet chips - These crispy chips are made exclusively from beets. Snack on them with hummus or crumble them on top of a salad for a healthier take on a crouton. They’re naturally quite sweet, too. Available at various supermarkets + on Rhythmsuperfoods.com.

  21. Birch Benders pancake mix - I love whipping up a batch of these paleo pancakes on the weekends. All you have to do is add water (though I like throwing in some fresh or frozen blueberries too), mix, and cook. Available at various supermarkets + on Birchbenders.com.

  22. Macro Vegetarian sprouted lentil & bean dip - I can’t get enough of this spread. It’s sweet and nutty and perfect as a dip for veggies. Available at Fairway + various supermarkets.

  23. Biena Snacks - Ultra addicting and packed with protein, Biena’s roasted chickpea snacks are the perfect choice for when you want something crunchy. I’m all about the sea salt flavor. Also amazing: the brand’s new sweet takes. The dark chocolate covered chickpea snacks remind me of Buncha Crunch from my childhood. Available on Amazon.com + at various supermarkets.

  24. Coconut Bliss sea salt caramel + chocolate ice cream bars - I mean…need I say more? Available at various supermarkets.

  25. Trader Joe’s carrot ginger miso dressing - The perfect choice for when you don’t feel like whipping up your own dressing. It gives salads an Asian-y spin in seconds. Available at Trader Joe’s.
